Thank you for posting this popeye pic i googled stanley shoeck and spent some time looking at his pics of the PI.the poverty although bad does not even compare to India.I enjoyed the flaggelation(sp?) pages.Also i have a dream of retiring to Palawan island..I may just do that someday.

Palawan is probably the cleanest area in the philippines and the most law abiding. as long as haggedorn is alive. what comes after he died is anybody's guess. Palawan being just an hour's boatride away from Mindanao. I think Tagaytay city or Baguio city of Philippines is much safer and climate friendly areas.
