This is a Buddhist ritual called "Lang Pa Cha" meaning to clean up the dead forest. It is done when the cemetery run out of burial space. The unclaimed bodies are dig up. The flesh are removed and the bones are cremated. This is done by volunteers (usually emergency response personal or medical staff.) Part of this practice is to honor the dead with cremation. It's also considered good deeds for the volunteers that participated.

Nice thorough set of pics, Anvaje, Thanks! That's fresh meat. Very few protective gloves on site. They gonna eat good at the picnic and are really enjoying the afternoon outing. |
