i had a friend that did this two years ago with the aide of a helium tank. I called the police when he did not arrive at my house that night, but the police would not break into his apartment until two days later. :(

i call foul play in that... not even the mental patients would commit suicide that way. too long too painful and not too sure of death.

We do humanity a grave disservice when we deny a dignified death to those who are terminally ill. We would not ask a dog or a cat to suffer, but human beings who cannot take it any more are forced to desperate measures like this.
