On the evening of 21st July 2018, 21 year old Rayane Santos Santana Maú was shot dead. Rayane, according to witnesses, was in the driver's seat of a car waiting for her 2 passengers. Her passengers, however, were robbing a building for money. The place they were robbing was being manned by an off duty police officer. With a gun pointed at the officer, he managed to stop the robbers + they fled. One of the robbers tried to get into the car that Rayane was waiting in. Shots were fired + Rayane was shot in the back of her head. She got out of the car to try + get help but died. The robber was shot in his chest + was taken to the hospital by ambulance.         |
