Extremely Rare Crash Photos of Northwest Flight 255
Crashed at DTW in August 1987. The flaps were not properly configured for takeoff, and the plane crashed into the highway.The flight crashed after takeoff in Detroit on August 16, 1987, at about 20:46 EDT (8:46 p.m. local time,killing all of the crew and passengers except for a 4-year-old girl, Cecelia Cichan, who sustained serious injuries. Thanks Scamps! And thank you Mook of course!  Wow, that is one hell of a mess...amazing that little girl survived. When I see those smashed cars all I can think of is what it must have been like to be just driving along then all the sudden seeing a huge ass plane coming right at you...  |

Wow I wouldn't like to be the one who has to clean up all that crap. It's a miracle that the little girl survived that considering the state of the plane. In fact I can't even see much discernable plane wreckage, it's just a big ass mess scattered across the road |
