In fear of the pandemic flu a few years back it was decided to obtain samples of the 1918 flu virus. in Alaska there were graves in the permafrost that comtained bodies that were sufficiently preserved to still contain viable samples. This is probably that expedition.

IIRC, this exhumation was unique in that they were in an area that was perpetually frozen. The whole point was to extract viral DNA of the Spanish Flu and the bodies in this frozen state would have been ideal candidates.
