Re: Exhumations
Concrete vaults are sealed shut, however steel vaults are not. They have spring loaded locks on the bottom pan. When the dome of the vault is lowered, the locks pop back out. They are not sealed, the dirt forces it to stay down. The reason they are air tight, not gas tight is their design. Put a cup upside down in to a sink full of water. An air pocket is trapped, same with a steel burial vault. You can check some out on Wilbert burial vault's web site.

Re: Exhumations
If I can figure out how to do it, I have a picture of an oversized burial vault with a couple of buddies standing in it, that I will post. No gore unfortunatly, but the woman we buried in it was upward of 560 pounds. I also have a picture of that vault next to a standard size burial vault. Standard is 36 inches, the oversized is 52. I am all ears people, help me with these if you all want to see them, and I have a couple of others I know you'll will like. I still have privacy issues, if I saw a dearly departed on a web site that the local gravedigger put on it, I would not be pleased. I can show the body, but not headstones, cemetary sighns, or things of that nature. Open for suggestions.
