Could be. I'm a chef and one thing they teach you early on is that there are alot of ways food can get contaminated and it can sometimes lead to death pretty fast. This doesnt really happen in western countries with all the safety regulations and whatnot but I would imagine that alot of Cambodian kitchens are pretty fucking nasty.
