Dominican Dona Dangles
Pardon the Portuguese for alliterative purposes. She's really a Senora, I suppose. Anyway, 32 year old woman in the RD hung herself n a tree yesterday. Not a lot of details, but a lot of images. One of the most comprehensive hanging sets I have seen in a while. I found most of these, but thanks to mort for filling some gaps. Lots of speculation among the 'netizens' (these images are posted up on local social media within moments of her discovery), as there always is, about whether she was a murder or suicide. Looks like a clear hanging to me, but there were a lot of folks grumbling about her feet flat on the ground. Like they've never seen a hanger with her feet flat before. Several also commented that the closeups on her crotch don't show any urine so hanging death is unlikely. Of course, as the tens of thousands of photos already on this site will testify, bladder void in hanging is very common but it isn't a guarantee. Could just be that this woman is one of the small percentage who didn't piss herself in the noose. My money is on hanging regardless. But the 'netizens' love watching those CSI re-runs. |

I make a point to repeat whatever the concerns of the news write-up or the social media conversation bring up. Some people here tend to focus more on some parts than others. That said, and because I try to answer what questions I can, I will only reply: 1. Denim retains moisture for lengthy periods of time. She hasn't been hanging long enough for it to dry. 2. Almost impossible for there to be a bowel release but no bladder void. The fact is, as I mentioned before and have mentioned many times when asked, that voiding bladder/bowels is quite common in hanging suicides but simply does not happen every time. |

Yeah, it could have been a fresh suicide and the bladder may have just not had time to release/empty. I have always been curious about hangings/suicides where the victim's feet are touching the ground. Maybe they just slowly blackout thus not much of a struggle and when they are unconscious and unaware, then death comes peacefully, for some.

According to my wife, them ain't jeans. They are leggings designed to look like jeans. Therefore, they are not a denim material, but that stretchy lycra or spandex stuff. What is the rate of urine evaporation from a polyester-based material in a subtropical climate? Anyone? |
