Re: Death by R/C Helicopter.

The article says it concerned a gas powered RC helicopter, but I would have imagined anything with a gas turbine is going to be huge, definitely a lot bigger then the heli that guy was holding. Who is wrong, the article or me? I know the small electro and petrol engines are commonly used in RC vehicles, but I would assume a gas turbine, with it's much greater complexity, would be difficult to miniaturise to the size of his RC heli. I once saw a video on YouTube of an RC heli which did have actual gas turbines, but that thing was huge, probably the size of a large motorbike or a SMART car.
First, you assumed it was a turbine. You disregarded how small two stroke engines can be.

Then you made an ass of yourself because you have no clue how small turbines and jets can be. Yes, this b-52 rc plane has 8 turbojets on it.

Then the goof crashed it. :

Re: Death by R/C Helicopter.

Years back I bought a Century heli, 4ft. or more worth of blades. Had a nitro motor, and having never dicked with glow motors was unsuccessful in my attempts to start it. Thank Goodness!!! Didn't have a clue.. who knows what would have happened. Have buddies that fly large Mikado copters, insane how they jerk those things around, I'd whale hump one into the dirt quicker than can blink.. will hang with the gas planes..
