Re: #4. Another suicide due to exam stress. I don't get it. When I was coming up in school and University, I never heard of anyone doing this type of thing, or even being stressed about exams or finals. It would seem to me that modern society is raising a bunch of pussies who can't handle shit. |

Well I have heard a good few tales of the Mariana Trench-level pressures Asian parents put on their kids. Some just buckle in various ways.

Perhaps they are all pussies. If those kids had tiger and/or helicopter parents like mine, I can identify with the pressure these kids are put under. Parents like these don't do the kid any favors by running the kid's life and forcing that kid to be a doctor, lawyer, or whatever. |

Yep, they put him in women's clothes before hanging him. Thank you.

Easy to say when you've never had to compete in Asian academics that will either determine if you can access additional education or be relegated to menial jobs for the rest of your life.

And this is why there should be no shame in saying "fuck you" to one's parents and doing your own thing. Wish I had the guts to do that when I was 18 instead of wasting years being depressed and fantasizing about ending up in situations I see on this site. Sadly most of the world doesn't give a rat's ass about mental health.

Well said. Don't get me started on mental health. I am a card carrying member of the Lunatic Fringe myself. I cannot believe how hard it is to get MH care in the US, as rich as we are. |

Re: Death Mix (Russia, Myanmar, India)
As an addendum to my post, I must add that when I was coming up in school and University, this was before the internet, and it is quite possible that these type of suicides were happening on a daily basis in other countries, but without sites such as DR, I would not ever have known about them.
