The bouyancy of a human body is less than that of water; therefore, the corpse would actually remain afloat. The blue floats are used to provide additional bouyancy for ease of handling.

The human body only becomes buoyant after being submerged for 12 hours or so, prior to that it sinks, something to do with Co2 build up in the blood or something like that.
