A leak from a plane can't form a "spear". It's physically impossible. The speed is going to spray the liquid even if it's a huge leak. The temperature up there is below freezing point, but the freezing point we're talking about is at atmospheric pressure. The pressure up there is a lot lower making the freezing point up there a lot lower too.
