If any of the fittings he was using have ANY oil on them at all, it becomes a self-detonating explosive as soon as you put high pressure oxygen on them. We deal with those high pressure oxygen bottles every day where I work on aircraft, and we have never had an accident. You MUST follow the rules, ALWAYS, EVERY TIME!

How did it hit his foot/ankle as well as his head, though? I mean, I can kind of see the damage in both places, but I just can't figure out the logistics of how it went down?!?   |

I think the blood on his head is from contact with the blood on the ground from the amputation of his right leg at the shin ( look closely). Crawled out ( maybe fainted ) but died of massive blood loss before medics could get to him ( maybe rural town etc).
