if a death metal vocalist trys/ commits suicide, is he not EMO?!?! I mean I love death metal, listened to Mayhem, Dimmu Borgir, Garmarna, and several Icelandic bands (I do understand Norwegian, Icelandic, Danish, and Swedish, as I have many relatives from these countries), but I think cutting oneself and suicide are the most emo thing you can do.

STORY: this norwegian black metal band called Mayhem recorded "Dawn of the Black Hearts" with thier former singer, "Dead" (Per Yngve Ohlin). After they finished recording, the singer commited suicide by shotgun for whatever reason. His corpse was found the next day by the guitarist, "Euronymous" (Oystein Aarseth), who just took a picture of the body. the picture ended up being the cover art for "Dawn of the Black Hearts" (1995)

I read about this somewhere. The friend did actually take the pic but, it's rumored that he staged the scene for effect, before the po po got there. So sensitive of them to use his death pic for the album cover.
