At about 7:30 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, a municipal bus from Guarabira collided with a cyclist on the PB-057 highway in Itapororoca, Paraiba, Brazil. The 67-year-old cyclist died. Accounts reported lethal trauma to the head, a crushed skull and body parts strewn across the location. The bus was making its usual run transporting students to a university campus and was not a school bus filled with children. Its driver stopped, summoned emergency services and, in a note from the city hall, was said to have shown no negligence while driving at an appropriate urban speed.

A same-day account classified the vehicle as a truck and stated that its driver could not be located, producing conflicting references to a truck and a bus. However, at least three accounts described a bus, so that version has stronger support. No account substantiates the assertion that the cyclist's organs were ejected; the descriptions consistently concern fatal head injuries. One account published the victim's name, but it remains withheld pending independent confirmation.

Whew, that’s a genuine antique Schwinn bicycle. It has survived without a scratch. The family will have to sell off all his belongings to pay for a decent patch job & farewell party. Or start a Go Fund Me.
