A crowd killed a man suspected in the sexual abuse of a toddler on Rua dos Expedicionarios in Feira de Santana, Brazil, on March 24, 2026. Police said residents blamed him for the alleged abuse of a girl who was 2 years and 11 months old three days earlier. The allegation was under investigation, and police had scheduled the man for questioning. He was never charged.

Residents forced their way into the house where the man was staying, attacked him inside and dragged him into the street. Reported weapons included knives, hoes, shovels and pieces of wood. A forensic examination found multiple stab wounds, broken arms and legs, and both eyes torn out. The man was preliminarily known as Dario, but his formal identification remained pending fingerprint analysis. The girl received initial treatment at the Feira 10 polyclinic and was transferred to the Hospital Estadual da Crianca. Police were investigating both the alleged sexual abuse and the killing. No arrests in the killing had been reported as of March 25, 2026.
