Cousins in the Tub.
BACKSTORY: 1989, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Gloria Fernández (15) was working with her cousin Irma Beatriz Girón (21) in her house, they had a flower arrangement little business. She had a fever so they called a doctor on April 14, he prescribed some antibiotics and left. Gloria took two pills according to what was found later. On Sunday, April 16, a neighbor felt a terrible smell and called the Police. The corpses were in the bathtub severely decomposed, the presence of cadaveric fauna made the investigators believe they were dead for about 20 days, but only 2 days before they were seen by the doctor and other neighbors. 28 years later there's still no explanation about how they died and why the bodies were in that state, there are many theories but nothing confirmed. ![]() |

Re: Cousins in the Tub.
It could be the body heat, that helped accelerate the decomposition process. The right cousin's legs were locked around the left cousin's waist. If the bath waters were warm enough, then that's a perfect cocktail mix for you. Water + water heat + body heat = eyes popping out and tongue portuding. I bet rigor mortis was noticable just a couple of hours into their deaths, when it generally takes a full day for rigor to fully set in under any other circumstance. If the circumstances were any different (i.e. found dead in a frozen field), they'd still look like Average Joe Schmoes after 2 days. Stiff and slightly livid, maybe, but not to this extent. Alas, they were found dead in hot water. Water + heat = swift decaying process. |
