Re: Corpse Discovered With Eyes and Lips Gone
It's interesting that the orbit is so clean (you can clearly see the bone back in the cavity). It is equally interesting how no optic nerve or vascularization is present either. I was wondering if they gouged the eyes out (as indicated by the fractured orbital bone), poured an acid/strong base/caustic in the eyes as a form of torture, and then the acid/caustic somehow got washed out by rain or something. This doesn't bother me at all. I've seen some very interesting things in my lifetime; in this forum, it is much more clinical and sanitary. The rotting smells usually get me. |

Re: Corpse Discovered With Eyes and Lips Gone
People are funny: we're all more than just the sum of our parts in life, but remove just one or two of those parts in death and we start to look considerably less "human." The close-up pic didn't give me a visceral reaction. I just kind of studied it longer than usual because I've never seen anything like that before, and it does indeed look damn creepy. |
