That's just a sky burial, seems bizarre but it's a relatively common occurrence in Tibet and surrounding regions. The Zoroastrians dump the bodies en masse: google search "towers of silence" for some piled up, blackened corpses. Brilliant photos though. I haven't seen the whole process with the bone crushing before.  |

Zoroastrians do the same thing, except they do more than one body at a time. Probably why in the movie 300 the Persians were seen getting so incredibly cheesed at the Spartans for how they handled the bodies of the dead Persians!
