it's a real 'you all must die' moment this one... because not only did the KLM fuel up completely (which caused them not to be able to lift over the pan am in the end), but there were also communication errors because when two messages (one from the ATC other from the pan am) occur at the same time, they make a static screech, and in the end there was a strong fog that came up right when the KLM was refueling, so when they reached the end of the runway they could only see as far as 600m in front of them (and they need 800m to get take of clearance) use google before you comment :) |

So many odd things happened to cause this (1)Both planes were not meant to be in Tenerife(flew there cox of a bomb alert(2)If one of the planes did not extra refuel it would have taken off half an hour earlier(3)the fog descended that afternoon too early and (4)If the jumbo did not extra refuel it would have not hit the other jumbo due to longer take off with the fuel. Very horrific crash RIP X
