it is ironic that the biggest aviation 'death count' occured on the ground.......

Re: Collision of Two B 747 ☠ 575 Deaths

Im gonna go ahead and say it...i know alot of people will be thinking it...

How the fuck..do you NOT see a plane at the end of the run way your takeing off from...planes have windshields...It just doesn't make any logical sense to keep going if you see something in your runway. Maybe the pilot thought he had enough time..but that just seems like that would be covered in a manual somewhere..

Re: Collision of Two B 747 ☠ 575 Deaths

These are still the most amazing pictures I have seen of an air disaster (yes, I know the planes were on the ground with the KLM trying to take off over the Pan Am). Most of these photos were taken from the book, "Terror at Tenerife"; a very interesting read, having been penned by one of the survivors.

Fog and stupidity on the part of the KLM pilot; the Pan Am pilot was trying to turn off the runway in the fog and the KLM didn't want to wait. He gunned his engines and didn't see the Pan Am turning until it was too late. The Pan Am crew
was shouting, "he sees us, doesn't he??" KLM tore through the Pan Am fuselage as it didn't clear the plane. KLM lifted a bit more then crashed, killing all onboard.

Re: Collision of Two B 747 ☠ 575 Deaths

This accident was the most retarded and preventable thing ever. There is a good documentary on youtube about it, if anyone is interested.
