They may be quickly sliced through by the pathologist to check for any co-morbidities he had such as tumours, etc. Seems weird as he was obliterated in the road but any other conditions he had will be added to the autopsy report.

For example, they find a heart or brain defect that contributed to the death - a stroke or cardiac arrest caused him to lose control of the bike.
