Chuan Wan Chooi Found Dead in Kuala Lumpur Water Tank, May 12, 2015

Chuan Wan Chooi, 43, was found dead inside a condominium water tank on Jalan Semantan in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, at about 9 p.m. on May 12, 2015. Residents had complained for days of foul-smelling tap water before management discovered his decomposed body. Chuan, an auto-parts salesman who had disappeared on May 7, was neither a resident nor an employee of the condominium.

Brickfields police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said CCTV showed Chuan walking alone toward the tank room. Police could not explain how he entered, as the room was locked and security guards held the keys. A post-mortem examination found no visible injuries and was inconclusive. Police said drowning had been ruled out because there was no water in his lungs. The cause of death remained unexplained while toxicology results were pending. Firefighters recovered the body from the tank room.

The smell of shit and a dead body must've been more than those workers could handle.

That is still very sad though.

Fortunately (?) for the residents, he was in the septic tank not the (drinking) water tank.

i was wondering the same thing. I read no injuries but he was mutilated. Than I see the photo says water tank, refuting what OP said in post. I found an article that is titled "man found dead in septic tank" but than starts the article off with him being found in a water tank. Maybe that's what they call them over there?

Re: Chuan Wan Chooi Found Dead in Kuala Lumpur Water Tank, May 12, 2015

and 6 months ago, this. so guess it's a popular way to get rid of dead bodies
KUALA LUMPUR: A stinking smell emanating from a septic tank led police to a gruesome find at a bungalow in Jalan Seri Murni 11, Bukit Damansara, here today.

Brickfields police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said at about 6.30pm, the mutilated body of a woman, believed to be an Indonesian, minus her head, hands and legs, was found in the septic tank.

The woman, believed to have been murdered, could have been left inside the septic tank for about two to three weeks.

"We received a report from residents living nearby that a bad odour was emanating from the bungalow. Upon inspection, police found the mutilated body of a woman, believed to have been murdered," he told Bernama when contacted, here today.

Muhammad Azlee said following the gruesome find, police have detained eight men, all Bangladeshis, to assist investigations because police have yet to establish the motive for the murder.
