Re: Chit Chat Thread

Fuckin shame.

Miguel Ángel Rodríguez died this morning. No one in the US is likely to actually give a fuck, so I'm not bothering to post this to News or Current Events. But this is the Death section, so I'll complain about it here instead.

Miguel Ángel Rodríguez was the editor-in-chief for Nuevo Alarma!, the longest running and most popular 'Nota Rojas' rag in Mexico. Hundreds and hundreds of the images on this site were snagged from the pages of his magazine over the past few years by dozens of different posters. I had spoken with him personally a number of times both over the phone and online and he was always immensely helpful with making sure I got the images I was looking for, even when the most recent issue of Alarma! didn't make it to my local barrio. He was a really sweet guy with a dark, caustic sense of humor and an intense dedication to capturing and sharing all of mankind's darkest moments with the curious public.

He was only 50 years old and, despite being a longtime investigative journalist in one of the deadliest areas of the western world, it was an unexpected heart attack in his home that laid him out.

RIP, Miguel. The gore world will NOT be the same without you.

Not to exploit the death of a good man for social reasons, but I hope some of the users from other areas of the forum crying that all you do is cherry pick threads from other sites, take the time to actually read this post. I doubt there are all too many posters dedicated enough to show that level of follow through in their thread research.

Yeah. Spring is the best time of year. For me, we have just finished a very hot summer [drought affected area] and now into a beautiful autumn. Need to start cutting and stacking the firewood for the cold winter ahead. Its that Alien bug a moth cacoon?

Na it is a Cicada and it's cocoon. Not sure if it is still alive or not since we took it out of it's cocoon but I have it in a jar and we will see what happens. I'll take a pic when and if it comes out of it's sleep. Here is a pic of what one looks like. I'm not sure if ya'll have them where you live.

Yeah we love spring over here cuz we can get our veg garden started and not stop til fall. We have had the worst winter here. We really don't know when it will end. Today is the first day of spring and it feels like it but there might be more winter coming next week .
