That's actually a doorway shot, not a mirror shot. You can see the back of the open door near the jamb. Easy to misconstrue, though. It certainly looks like a mirror shot. That would, of course, mean that she'd hung herself directly across from a full-length mirror, which would have had its own macabre implications. |

Is it customary to take pictures of her leaking ass? I mean let her go in peace. Why disgrace someone by taking pictures of the 'wetness' of her death? Unless they always do that. Never really seen much of that going on in other pictures.

Re: Cambodian Political Staffer Hangs Up Career *UPDATED 09/02*
Those photos are always taken as part of the documentation of the crime/death scene. A typical suicide like this would have anywhere from 40 to 200 individual photos taken of the body and the surroundings. They are specifically supposed to document any sort of fluid/foreign matter/etc that appears on clothing or on the surrounding surfaces. This includes urine, blood, vomit, feces, unidentified substances, etc. All part of documenting evidence. The reason you do not typically see these 'focused' photos around here is because 95% of the images we post here are sourced from journalists or bystanders. They take only a handful of photos for their blogs and newspapers and typically not ones focusing on things like piss-soaked pants or nudity, etc. Several of the images in this set, however, WERE taken by scene personnel and published in a limited fashion because there was a lot of public outcry about her death. The confused public were angry that her hands were caught in the noose and that she had no visible means of elevation. The photo that features the closeup of the urine was posted by a cop working the scene. Sorry for the long-winded reply, but hopefully this answers your question. tl;dr These types of detailed photos are taken all of the time, we just rarely see them posted due to sourcing. |
