The articles I found and translated talk about him as being severely autistic. Which in my mind explain him carrying her, as if he doesn't understand the severeness, or ramifications of his actions - but now in a remorseful or pleading action of help her or fix this type action. He looks fairly stunned to me in the arrest photos. It just seems like a very sad situation.
