I’m assuming it’s bc of how his head is hanging down a bit, and he’s face down so blood would pool there.

The extremely blue color in his face is very interesting. I know that people who were executed by judicial (long drop) hanging usually have that as well, because although your breathing stops your heart it usually takes at least 10-15 minutes for your heart to stop, all the while getting progressively more starved of oxygen. And seeing as this guy broke his neck, just like an executee would after getting executed by hanging, I assume they are related. But does anyone know more about this and woud care to explain the specifc mechanisms behind it?
