I think the 'severe' is 'severely' understated lol
It's sort of a play on western media and their use of terms like "severe head injuries" to describe these fatal accidents. Whenever I read in the news about people dying on impact in car accidents, and see terms like "severe head injuries," I wonder if they ended up like Porsche Girl or if they were spared a graphic death.

A 40-year-old American man from California was killed in Phetchabun Province of Thailand when his motorbike collided with a ten-wheel cement truck. He died from severe injuries to his head.
