Re: Businesswoman Shot Dead on Rizal Ave, San Pedro, Pagadian City, 2017
A businesswoman was shot dead in Rizal Avenue, San Pedro, Pagadian City last Monday night. Police regional Information Officer Chief Insp. Helen Galvez identified the fatality as Josie Calamba Gabule, 57, widow, a resident of Purok Rosas, barangay Lumbia, Pagadian City. Police said that Gabule was on her way home riding a motorized tricycle coming from Boss Gym and upon reaching Rizal Avenue particularly fronting RD pawnshop in barangay San Pedro, two gunmen were waiting along the side of the road and seated on a parked Yamaha Mio Scooter shot her several times. However, the victim only sustained a lone gunshot wound in the body. She was rushed to the Pagadian City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival. Police are looking three possible angles wherein the first was a love triangle motive after the victim allegedly had an illicit affair with a married soldier whose wife recently confronted her twice that led to their heated argument. Second angle could be a personal grudge due to money matter since the victim engaged in a money lending and just recently she tried to collect a payment of P300,000 from one her clients which led to a misunderstanding. And the third is involving a land dispute after the victim recently won in a civil case regarding land ownership against one of her relatives. – Dan Toribio |
