Burns like that are survivable but, its the skin grafts that will be the problem. Poor man, I hope he made it one way or another, to cheat death up to that point then die would really suck.

His clothes don't look completely and utterly ruined, so maybe its a mixture of soot and burns on his face. And I'm guessing because his clothes aren't chard, his hands and face got most of it, and the rest of his body, not so much. Other wise, I highly doubt he'd even be able to get up.
