Brad Will, Indymedia Journalist Shot While Filming in Oaxaca, 2006
On October 27, 2006, Bradley Roland Will, a 36 year old American journalist and documentary filmmaker for Indymedia New York City, was filming street clashes in Santa Lucia del Camino, at the edge of Oaxaca City, Mexico, when he was shot twice. He died that day, the bloodiest of the uprising against Governor Ulises Ruiz. His camera continued recording when he was struck, and the footage was included in the evidentiary record. The shooter was never identified: press freedom groups and human rights investigators cited video showing pro-government gunmen firing at the scene, while federal prosecutors pursued protester Juan Manuel Martinez Moreno under a close range theory disputed by forensic reviewers. After serving about 16 months, he was cleared by a federal court in February 2010. No one has been convicted, and a state truth commission subsequently classified the death as an extrajudicial execution.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·

he was filming at the time he was shot.the video is floating around i will see if i can dig it up. i saw it awhile ago, kinda like a first person death video
