The way it was explained to me by an outdoorsman/hunter was they like to wear camo so they aren't one big solid object. The camo breaks it up and makes it harder for animals to see them. They have to wear some orange so other hunters can see them for safety reasons and a lot of animals can't actually see the color orange so they don't stick out to animals the way they do humans. Apparently that's the logic a lot of these guys have.
