I followed this closely at the time. Realize that there were members (a minority, yes) of the Chinese military that sympathized with the demonstrators. That embarrassing item was as big a threat to the government as the demonstrations. Ultimately the government prevailed in its usual absolute fashion. As America slips under the waves with record unemployment, watch for this in a town near you within your lifetime.

Your right. The troops posted in and around Beijing, were originally ordered to put down the demonstrators, refused. They were never issued ammo and were forced to watch another unit from a different province, slaughter thousands.

Hey wolfie - lolll I haven't walked into a fucking walmart in 25 years. I've always hated them. i consider them the destroyer of small town america. |
