I honestly couldn't tell you what happened, but I can say this: Those are probably the worst pictures from a homicide I have ever seen.

Guy assigned to taking photographs:
"I know, let me take two shots of this ladder. I'll point my camera at such an odd angle at these blood drops that no one will be able to tell the relation of the photo to the body and then take the shittiest photo of the corpse....yeah, that should do it."

Yeah. You'd think that if your job was to photograph, you'd have professional pride and try to come up with something that is artistic, regardless of the subject matter.
