Just for interest sake, the reason so many of these "attempted suicides" fail is because of the human bodies auto reflex to avoid damage, as the person pulls the trigger the bodies reflexes cause the head to move back, hence the face being damaged rather then the head. Truly serious suicides or at least informed suicidal people put the barrel right under the base of the neck and throat, that way no matter how fast your reflexes the required affect will be carried out.
