American Man, 31, Found Hanging From a Tree in Cambodia
On March 8th, 2014, an American national, 31, of New Orleans, Louisiana, was found hanging from a tree with his hands tied behind his back in Sihanouk province, Cambodia. The victim entered Cambodia as a tourist. He checked in at the Coral Beach Bungalow on March 2, and disappeared March 6. He left material behind in his room. There was a note left in which the victim apologized for everything, and that he had $6001 in an envelope in his room. He requested to be buried at sea, and for his clothing and accessories to be donated to charity.  ·  ·  ·  · |

This is actually the strangest of the deaths I've found of a Westerner in Cambodia. The police claimed it was a suicide, but the local media suspected something more sinister. Because his hands are tied behind his back, whether it was suicide or not, I think there was a 3rd party involved. |
