As a Las Vegas resident I am shocked (more so pissed, really), that this happened to my city. I was working at the Strip just a few miles away from Mandalay Bay where it happened. Workers in many casinos were told to go down into their hotels service areas for safety. Most properties were on lock down because there were conflicting reports on where the the threat actually was. The initial report we got at around 10:30ish was that there were multiple shooters in different properties, and even a few bomb threats. By 11:15ish the city ran out of ambulances and had to enlist the help of civilians with pickup trucks to transport the wounded. I had friends that attended the concert and friends had to work doubles as paramedics but I'm fortunate that I didn't lose anyone. They even shut down Las Vegas BLVD (the Strip), and most of the I-15 freeway. As of today, 10/4, Las Vegas BLVD is still closed from Russell to Tropicana (approx. from the Welcome Las Vegas sign to the New York-New York hotel). Right now UMC is a shitshow cause Trump is stopping by tomorrow. There are media people camped outside waiting for that twat. Everyone laying on that field WAS dead or was taking their last breath. I admit they should hit the lights instantly not 20 minutes after the fact.
