It's a louvre window. The glass slats pivot in the middle. With the way they are designed and the way she got trapped on them, her chin acts like a lever on them, forcing them closed with her body weight. She wouldn't be able to back out again unless she could lift herself off the louvre, then she would be able to open them and slide out. The only other way would be to try and push on through, but again, without the leverage of the stepladder or a lot of upper body strength, it would be too difficult, with intoxication and panic making it even harder.

...or, you know, she could turn her head sideways towards her shoulder, probably exactly like she had to do to get in there in the first place, and she would have slid out.

Very sad tho. poor girl. died trying to escape...she free now

It's a very common window type, here in Brazil. It's not a bad idea, and works as a "trap" safety device. It was never designed to let people in/out, they're not an Emergency Exit. Actually it's better than the American cardboard houses that are always burning down.
