Of course the final decision is the woman's, and no one is suggesting that women get abortions "because men tell them too". I guess I was reacting more generally to pro-life rhetoric in the US, where it seems as though a lot of shame and guilt is imposed on women who are in the unfortunate position of needing an abortion, and the father is largely "let off the hook". I think that's pretty unjust - it takes two to make a baby. At any rate it doesn't apply to this particular situation, which seems to have been a compassionate decision based on medical grounds. This must have been a horrible experience for the mother to go through - why the hell are people calling her a "slut". |

Ultrasound diagnosis of hypertelorism is generally suspected after 22 weeks of gestation. But, if you google hypertelorism, it ranges in severity, from case to case. This fetus did not look to have a bad case of it. Looks like Apert's syndrome. But, I am not a Doctor and I don't have further details on this case. The cleft palate is also fixable with surgery. It could have lived a generally normal life, but would likely have been born with reduced brain functions. I guess some people refuse to handle that. Sad  |

lol what kind of question is that? if she were aborting the fetus for a minor facial deformity, late in pregnancy like this lady was alleged to have done, I wouldn't give a damn what happened to her. for you to compare abortion due to rape and abortion due to vanity is absurd.
