I would say child abuse is worse because children don't understand what is happening and are innocent, some of the elderly are aware they are being abused and know what it is and not all elderly people are innocent....  |

Here in San Antonio there was an elderly woman who used to teach at the school who was beaten to death by a man who had the mind of a 15 year old. Sad sad story. Not sure if this is the woman but happened the same time.  |

That's tough one. I think child abuse is worse because the babies are usually so young, but, they're both committed by cowardly bullies who are lacking that what makes us feel and want to take care of those weaker than ourselves. A life for a life in these cases, in my humble opinion. When I'm with my 13 month old great nephew, I can't imagine the things people do to babies, (although I know they do). They look up at you and they trust you so much. They depend on you for everything. I always believe the bigger ones should take care of the little ones. On the other hand, my mother is 76 and I can't imagine, even though I do get impatient sometimes, every laying a hand on her, let alone use her as a punching bag. Both are just not right! |

I disagree, most elderly are just as vulnerable and "childlike" especially at that age. I also don't know if it's worse to be aware or unaware of the ordeal you are going through. This was also a woman in her own home and an unprovoked attack so therefore she is just an innocent. |

You said it. In addition, I personally think that comparing elderly abuse and child abuse makes little sense, since I think both are absolutely horrendous. I feel so bad when looking at the pics of that lady |
. What a cowardly thing to do. Poor woman. 
I can't decide what's worse, elderly abuse or child abuse.
