Re: 700 Year Old Corpse of a Woman
If you think the stitching on her shoes is nice, you should see their silk robes, or how about the samurai body armor. They mastered the thread and needle. Most of you are very very ignornant.

Re: 700 Year Old Corpse of a Woman
Amazing post! The Chinese cetainly knew a thing about embalming! Reminds me of Lady Dai,who was so perfectly preserved she had a near normal autopsy: "When Lady Dai was found her skin was supple and her limbs could be manipulated; her hair was intact; her type A blood still ran red in her veins, and her internal organs were all intact. The mystery of Lady of Dai has not yet been solved. Archaeologists and pathologists are still pondering the possible reasons behind her state of preservation. Was it the elaborate tomb construction that protected the body? Or, more controversially, it could have been the mysterious liquid that the body was immersed in. Is this strange substance an elixir of immortality? " http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english...ent_368631.htm I would SO love it if DR had an archeology/history section all of its own. Please,oh lovely Mod Sharon, pls think about it? |
