On the afternoon of Sunday 12th October 2014, 3 members of the same family drowned.

Charles Silva Freitas aged 36
Bianca de Sousa Silva aged 14
Késia Lima Silva aged 11

*I've read 2 different versions of what happened.

1. Charles was rescued from drowning in a river but died at the hospital. Cousins Bianca + Késia were informed of their uncle's death. They took a boat across a river to return home but it turned over + the girls drowned.

2. The girls were bathing in the river + were taken by the current. Charles had had a bit of a drink, disappeared into the water + was found dead by friends.
