The Egyptians were horrible taskmasters who had enslaved the Jews for centuries and many would have died under those conditions. Even though God saved the Jews from the men who were harming them he still did not rejoice in their deaths.

Shipoopi. I see where you're coming from & I *appreciate* your respect for the Bible. While I'm fully aware of the many examples given where we shouldn't gloat over someone else's failure, I think more than anything, we're glad that this kid wasn't able to commit any further atrocious crimes against others.

Would we have preferred him alive? Only if he stopped living that lifestyle...but if death was the only means in which to stop him, so be it. God HATES wickedness & what this teenager did was just that.

On forums/sites such as this, where we make crass jokes in the midst of tragedy, it isn't meant to be a complete disregard for life or death- it's a way to cope & not let all the negative get us down. For some, it might seem they've been desensitized but if that's the case, that's an issue inside of them...not an issue with the forum.
