Then they would hang limply, I believe, same as in the case when the neck snaps from long drop. Or decapitation - witnesses say there's no twitching in the body, it just relaxes.

However, here we see a lot of movement, and I'd attribute it to terminal activity of the brain, not spinal cord. It's believed that closing all neck vessels causes rapid loss if consciousness, and the ones cut down remember just a tug of the rope then nothing...

So I believe it's the opposite - brain still delivers kicks to the muscles, but the mind is doing OOBE and waiting for the dying brain to cut the string that the keeps the soul... Then bright light at the end of the tunnel... :)

Interesting you say that. I've personally believed that any struggle or forced movement of the arms or legs during a hanging is an attempt by the person to undo what they have done... as if they changed their mind in their dying moments and try to reach for the noose to loosen it or remove it. With some hanging videos, you often see the person raise their arms towards their heads as if they are reaching for the rope to remove it or untie themselves.

I don't know, it's just a theory. But I often wonder if there is a final attempt to release oneself from a situation that you know is going to kill you if you don't take action. Like a sudden realization that death is imminent followed by a final, panicked moment to reverse the situation.

No one will ever know really.

No one will ever know really.

Every one who practices asphyxia games of any kind will confirm that there's just no time for realizations or second thoughts. You quickly fade, and that's it. Search YouTube by 'rear naked choke' or 'choked out' - see how quickly they are passing out and what funny movements they make afterwards. And my favorite is - a surprised expression on their faces once they are back. :)

Trust me, I have quite a knowledge and practical experience with this stuff - played games a lot (and still alive, LOL).

Real suspension hanging must be really painful for a few seconds before you pass out. This is why lots of people doing it differently - adjust the noose so if you bend your knees you put some pressure on your neck, less than a half weight of your body, quite painless. Then it requires just a little dedication to stay that way, hearing rising buzz in your ears and drifting away... Easy death. Everybody shall have an 'emergency exit' if the life turns really sour, and I surely know mine...

Heartbreaking to see the sad expression on her face. We here get Syria news every day and it wouldn't surprise me if this girl had just decided to kill herself quickly rather than get caught up in some butcher fest out there.

To make sure people know what and why. I'm pretty sure someone, or something done by someone (like the unrest and the mass murder in Syria), has made her want to kill herself. When that happens - been there, done that - you want them to know what they've "achieved". There was some accusation in her eyes, I'm pretty sure she killed herself either over a person or the shit her country has gone to.
