I don't see a problem with them broadcasting news as it is. I wish our news was like that. See, a lot of people don't read (in my area anyways) so they learn by pictures. That's why loads of people are so bloody ignorant - even when they try to watch the news they still don't know what's going on because they get the watered down version. My nephew's a prime example - "I can't be arsed watching the news - nothing happens". I do believe he's joining the site this week but it's been taking him a while to get over a couple of beheadings I made him watch... Now he's quite interested in what's going on round the world but it's no thanks to the media... Just good old DR to the rescue again!!!  |

You got it Magenta, that is the exact purpose of this thread, it is sad when young people die in war, but on some level they knew that. It is a crime that we hide ourselves from it and refuse to look (not us but the mainstream) so I applaud Al-Jazeera for having the guts to show this stuff and not shying away like our gutless media.  |
