the practise of female genital mutilation is widespread among all religions in the areas where it is performed, and the practise actually predates both christianity and islam. it's just one of those weird fucking things that i will never understand. so cruel. and also, if they're doing it to remove pleasure, they'd have to remove a lot more than just the clitoral hood, since the clitoris is the penis' homologous structure and actually extends below the labia majora and down to the vaginal opening.
