That rifle is a muzzle loader that uses smokeless powder, more than likely he made a mistake and went with too fast of a powder .

It cant be a muzzle loader !
Its got a bolt action !
Why have a bolt action if it was`nt needed ?

I've seen this somewhere else on this site as, "Stick Your Thumb In My Barrel." I like this post a lot more though. It provides details! Defeats the purpose of the other post...because the man didn't put his thumb inside of the barrel...
