Woman Tries to Knife 2 Israeli Soldiers but Gets Shot in Her Stomach

A video released Tuesday evening captures the moment a Palestinian woman attempted to stab Israeli soldiers at a bus stop near the West Bank settlement of Ariel earlier in the day.

The dashcam footage recorded by a driver passing shows a young woman in a hijab approach the soldiers with a knife behind her back. As she raises the blade above her head, the soldiers back away with their weapons drawn.

The woman continues to walk towards them with the knife drawn for several meters before she is shot in the abdomen by the soldiers.

While grainy footage of attacks are often caught on security cameras, the video captured Tuesday is unique in both being clearly visible and seemingly showing the attack from beginning to end.

The attacker, whose identity was not immediately known, received medical treatment at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment, a military spokesperson said.

She was in serious condition, according to Channel 2.

None of the soldiers was hurt in the incident.

The incident occurred at the Gitai interchange outside of Ariel in the northern West Bank.

After a few months of comparative calm, a rash of terror attacks have taken place in the West Bank and Israel proper in recent weeks.

Last Friday, Rabbi Miki Mark was killed when his car was shot up outside of Hebron, in an attack that also left his wife and two children injured.

The day before, a 17-year-old Palestinian broke into the Kiryat Arba settlement and stabbed to death 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel as she slept in her bed.

In response, the IDF has set up a closure on Hebron — the most populous city in the West Bank — and on Bani Na’im, the hometown of several terrorists.

Eh those rifles would have made short work of her if she had a vest or not...it is obvious they didn't want to shoot her...which is a normal human reaction.

oh well in that case...you want them to back up....30 meters or more? haha "backing up" doesn't work in that case...also I do not think this particular conflict often has bomb attacks on 2 random guards

Also you can usually tell when someone has any useful amount of explosives tied to their body unless they have a lot of coverage with baggy clothes (which is usually a giveaway all its own in such hot climates)...she did not appear to be wearing anything capable of hiding anything special

It is also obvious she didn't want to stab the Israeli man once she raised the knife. She just halted and froze. Some may think she was deterred by the gun, but I think this was hesitation to drive a knife into a living human when the time came to kill.
