A woman was taken to the hospital after a shooting involving two Seattle police officers.

Witnesses started calling 911 just after 8 p.m. saying a woman was firing a gun out on the road at 12th Ave S and S Jackson Street. It's unclear if she was shooting at anything specifically.

The officers who arrived found her about a block and a half away. Investigators aren't saying much about what happened at that point, including whether the woman tried to threaten or even shoot police.

“Officers encountered the female at 10th and Jackson. She was armed at that time. Officers fired at that scene. Seattle Fire treated her for injuries,” said Asst. Chief Adrian Diaz.

The woman is now at Harborview Medical Center possibly with a gunshot to her shoulder. Police described it as non-life threatening. No one else was hurt.
